Heat Stress: Sometimes more detailed training material is needed.

In a recent blog I mentioned that you should avoid death by PowerPoint when presenting information relating to heat stress. However there are occasions where a more comprehensive session is required. This can be for training of OH&S representatives, special interest groups and sometimes students. The level and content will depend on your audience and the time available. Attached below is a PDF of a general awareness session that covers some of the key topics and goes for about an hour and could be useful.

If you need something with a bit more content for the higher level H&S advisor or hygienist for example, then head for the Occupational Hygiene Training Association OH Learning website and look at W502 – Thermal Environment in Section 2 β€œfind training materials and events in your area”. This is a very comprehensive collection of education material put together and reviewed by a panel of occupational hygienists who are very knowledgeable in the field. Best of all this huge collection of information is free.
